About Rofino Licuco
A real estate and infrastructure developer in Mozambique, Rofino Licuco is the owner of VBC Corporation, a company he launched more than two decades ago. As the CEO, he oversees a range of commercial and residential development projects in addition to clean energy projects, including solar and wind farms. Rofino Licuco also lends support to the OBRA DOM ORIONE Institution, which provides housing and other services for children with special needs, and to House Matthew 25, a Maputo-based organization that prepares and serves hot meals to homeless people.
Rofino Licuco developed a passion for entrepreneurship at an early age. He started selling oil on the street at eight years old and used his profits to buy a bicycle. Not long after, he acquired a fleet of around 20 bicycles and started renting them out to schools in the area. By 15, Mr. Licuco was traveling to South Africa and Hong Kong to buy and sell computers and computer equipment.
He brings this same passion and energy to his work as a real estate developer, expecting the best out of his employees and committing to high standards of customer satisfaction. For project materials, Rofino Licuco negotiates directly with manufacturers rather than allowing subcontractors to dictate final prices, promoting cost transparency and efficiency. His company has received multiple awards, including the International Gold Star for Quality for technology, innovation, leadership, and customer satisfaction.
In addition to his expertise in real estate development, Rofino Licuco is also a skilled investor and has enjoyed particular success in the technology space. Complementing his leadership experience, he has completed training in management, accounting, and building design, and is a graduate of the real estate executive program at the University of Oxford's Said Business School.
